Influenced by water, music, feelings, thoughts, and emotions. Inspired by myth, dreams, mysticism, architecture, nature, studies, and travels.

The flow state. That is what I wish to accomplish when creating: to align with more curiosity and less critic, allowing the process to unfold through pen, ink, water, and cold wax. And lastly, to share it with others.

If I think back to my early adolescence, childhood, and teen years, nothing has really changed. Surrealism has always been where I aligned within the art realm. I find myself intrigued by the human mind, the dream world, and my essence as a being.

What has changed is my attempt to scale larger.

Between 2019 and 2022, I was studying pen and ink on a small scale. I began attempting to create larger-scale work using this technique, but quickly realized how time-consuming it could be. Thankfully, one of my friends, Abraham Mojica, simply asked, “Why don’t you paint larger?”

Honestly, in those moments, it seemed like too much. I was thinking about etching, and after testing those grounds, I knew it was quite the task. But his question gave me the desire to search.

A week later, while traveling through Colombia with my great friend Benjamin, I spontaneously discovered ink wash. Inspired by a fellow artist in Bogotá D.C. who created small-scale pen and ink work, I found myself wanting to explore the possibilities.

The next day, after we flew to Medellín, I went out to create during a thunderstorm. Rainwater began falling onto my work, washing the ink across the surface.

Since then, I have continued exploring the creative process through the methods I have learned along the way. DREAM BLU has been a fun journey, a learning curve, and a breath of fresh air that has aligned me with another facet of this lifetime.

It has been fun, and I am grateful that I am finally able to share my work.
