From DREAM BLÜ to Ink & Reverie
My journey with Ferris Wheel Press Inks began with a simple introduction that opened an entirely new chapter in my artistic practice.
I have always been drawn to ink. I began working small-scale with Indian ink on handmade paper, allowing the pen to move intuitively and seeing what would emerge.
As a surrealist, I have always been fascinated by dreams, the human mind, nature, mysticism, and the unexpected. Ink became a way to explore those worlds through movement, imagination, and discovery.
My relationship with ink and water deepened during my travels through Medellín, Colombia, in Spring 2022.
While creating, rainwater unexpectedly splashed onto one of my drying sketches. I couldn't stop it, so I let the water take its course.
As the water moved through the ink, it created new shapes, shades, and textures.
I realized I didn't always need to control the medium.
Water could become part of the process.
That realization helped me take my work beyond the small scale and eventually led to DREAM BLÜ, my first large-scale series using blue Indian ink.
In Fall 2022, I presented my first DREAM BLÜ exhibition. It was there that a guest introduced me to Ferris Wheel Press,
And I began experimenting with the inks on a small scale, learning their colors, movement, and behavior on handmade paper. In 2024, I began introducing different textures and eventually carried those explorations into larger-scale work.

Ink & Reverie
These explorations became Ink & Reverie, my first series using Ferris Wheel Press Inks as the only color pigments.
Within this series, I used Ferris Wheel inks:
Beginning with 4" × 6" studies, I explored color, movement, texture, layering, and intuition, allowing the materials to create their own quiet language. The smaller studies gave me a place to learn; the textures opened another vocabulary; and the larger work gave those discoveries room to breathe.
Today, I create both small- and large-scale work with Ferris Wheel Press Inks.
With the latest large scale work being, Unshakeable Belief; derieved from a poem I wrote about Blue Whales.
Ferris Wheel Press has been a perfect medium for exploring and bringing my imagination and dreams to life. The inks have given me another language through which I can translate what I imagine into something tangible.
My intention remains simple:
More curiosity. Less critic.
I want to enter the flow state, allowing the work to unfold rather than forcing it toward a predetermined destination.
My journey with ink has taken me from a pen and handmade paper, through rain in Medellín, into DREAM BLÜ, and now into Ink & Reverie.
I feel like I am only beginning to discover what is possible.
Ferris Wheel Press Inks – are a part of where my artistic journey is going next.
